Thats actually happening where keita senpai and his friends goes to cows base. Do you wonder where is the cows base? Its in Nusa PelangiKeita Senpai or known as me was go there and learn everything about making food and drinks by using milk. So,i leave my school at 08.00 am and arrive there around 10.00 am. First thing that we do is we gather in the food court and wait for the others. After that, we has been instructed to gather in a room and when we already gather there, they explain about making foods and drinks using milk. After all the explaination, we gather in the food court and they divided us into 3 groups. Then, one by one the groups went down to some places. There are other 6 places:
- A warehouse where they keep the foods that called: "Rumah Pangan"
- There's a place where they take the milk from the cow
- then they show me and my friends the storage to keep their milk.
- and they show a room to make yogurt that only one officer that allowed to enter the room.
- and then they brings us back to the food court to shows us the process to make a yogurt
After they shows us all places where they make the yogurt, we had our lunch for 30 minutes and then they gathered us again in the projector room. At the entrance, they gave us a free yogurt that can be drink. And after we enter the projector room, they discuss about the short term trip and they seems feel happy with our incoming. Not just them but we feel the same thing. We seems very happy when we visit there. After that, we say thank you to Nusa Pelangi and we when home.
If you want to make yogurt, i can tell you the steps, ingredients, and stuff you needed to make it.
Ingredients:
- 1 quart (946 mL) milk (any kind but if you use "ultra-high pasteurized" or "UHP" or "UHT" then you can skip step one, as the milk has already been heated to this temperature before the pack was sealed)
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup non-fat dry milk (optional)
- 1 tablespoons white sugar to feed the bacteria
- pinch salt (optional)
- 2 tablespoons existing yogurt with live cultures (or you can use freeze-dried bacteria instead)
Stuff That you needed:
- Heavy, large pot or microwavable container (for warming milk)
- Candy thermometer, preferably with clip for attaching to the side of the pot
- Large bowl
- Small bowl
- Whisk or large spoon
- Ladle
- Storage containers
- Incubator (see above)
- Cheesecloth and colander for straining (optional, see step #9)
the Steps:
- Heat the milk to 185 F (85C). Using two large pots that fit inside one another, create a double boiler. This will prevent your milk from burning, and you should only have to stir it occasionally. If you cannot do this, and must heat the milk directly, be sure to monitor it constantly, stirring all of the while. If you do not have a thermometer, 185ºF (85ºC) is the temperature at which milk starts to froth. It is highly recommended that you obtain a thermometer in the range of 100 - 212ºF, especially if you plan to make yogurt on an ongoing basis.
- Cool the milk to 110F (43C)
- Warm the Starter
- Add nonfat, reduce fat, or whole dehydrated milk
- Add the Starter to the milk
